? that bears explaining. i'm going to do that now. northern california is going to get some rainfall. two things have changed. first, the atmosphere isn't as juicy. there's a certain water content that we can measure in the atmosphere and this particular system doesn't have as much as the past three that you endured over five days. so not as much juice in the atmosphere and notice everything is lifting to our north and west because that's where the focus of the jet stream energy is. it's been pushed a little to the north because of high pressure building in off the southern california coastline. so that near miss as opposed it a direct hit with less moisture means you're only going to get some rainfall so it will be slick and tough driving at times tomorrow but it won't be an all-day washout and won't be a concern like over the weekend. now, beyond tomorrow, it's all about high pressure and after a very cloudy pattern over the past several weeks we'll have high pressure building in and we'll have a dry chilly sunny northwest flow of air. we'll have highs only around 60 over the weekend wi
, another system in the atmosphere heading toward northern california but farther to the north than the last one. high pressure is nudging the storm track farther away from us. so it's a near miss, and the atmosphere isn't as energized as it was over the past several days. you're getting rain, you're not getting flooding. high pressure will give us sunshine over the next several days. it'll abe chilly pattern, but it will be a drier weather pattern. showers north now, we all get them tomorrow. it'll be a wet morning commute, wet evening commute, and done with the wet for a while. several straight dry days beginning on thursday. your forecast for tomorrow, a couple degrees above average. san jose on target for early december. showers around pleasant hill, pleasanton, and san ramon. extended forecast, once the rain is finished tomorrow our yards will finally dry out. we're going to have sunshine across the board. nice weekend, chilly, but drying out after tomorrow. >> and sunshine. >> how about a 41 forecast? >> to mid- january? >> i'm feeling chilly! >> we'll deal with that. >> the exclus
've got a big storm out there. a lot of moisture being grabbed, thrown right into the northern california area. you can see it's working its way south and almost into the bay area right now to the north bay. tonight and tomorrow it will be windy and wet with a front moving through. this is the first in about three different fronts. not expecting any widespread flooding or river problems. it'll be just soggy and the time for many of you hitting the road or air will be rough. some of you going to the mall to go shopping, it'll be wet for you too. they are not moving. we'll be wet all the way on through the weekend. and the heaviest rain will be up to the north. nearly an inch. about a quarter of an inch for tomorrow morning and concord and haywood. now what to expect? they get here for the morning hours. rain heavy at times all the way through sunday, but skies will clear by christmas eve. high tomorrow, san jose 56. hayward at 55. mid-50s and wet for pleasant hill and san ramon and low to mid-50s for san rafael and alameda. calling for rain all the way through sunday as we dry out christma

for that part of the region and some more snow expected, a good portion of northern california if you are taking interstate 5 up through shasta, be extra careful. there is a chance we could have some freeway closures. look at this winter storm warning out towards the sierra. snowfall 2 to 5 feet. that's a lot of snow and that could cause some problems on the roadway as we head into friday, saturday and sunday. here's our forecast model for today. we're starting out dry an increase in the high clouds. we do bring in a chance for rain showers up in the north bay. you will notice the south bay's still dry but then into early friday morning we're tracking rain clouds. we'll have wet pavement to start out our can friday morning commute. for today, increasing clouds, the chance of a shower up in the north bay, especially toward the latter portion of the afternoon. a pretty active forecast, some rain and wind, tapering off into the afternoon. a second storm producing heavier rain. saturday morning and possibly a third one into sunday as well. have to keep an eye on the rivers and the streams out there

accused of killing four northern california women's has been postponed. joseph naso's trial, ridge and is set for january, has been postponed until april. he is charged with the murder of these four women. the won the late '70s to early '90s. naso is represented himself in court. but a judge also designated a public defender as a standby counsel. >> several sampras's go supervises debated the city's police department's proposal police department'sstun guns to some officers. the board of supervisors does not have the authority does it to decide whether the officer should have the device, or rather the decision is made by the police commission. >> san jose has developed a card sharing pilot program with zip car through downtown and midtown area. if the program is an attempt to slow global warming and continue is agreed and bows. san jose city council approved a pilot program for up to 20 cars. if they keep the program will last until march 2014. if it secedes. the city's department of transportation will look to expand the program for residents to ross san jose. the >> welcome back.

bit closer, you can see plenty of rain over the northern sections of california. but we have to get in pretty close to see some rain in our neck of the road. a little bit of light rain possibly falling over guerneville and winds ooh, highway 12, east of highway 101. i move on over to areas near vacaville and fairfield, perhaps i-80 getting a few sprinkles at this time. around the air base parkway and vacaville area. so we will continue to see these scattered showers off and on, off and on and then a steady rain coming by tomorrow morning. right now, the winds are light. this storm, not as robust as we've seen. the winds will pick up a little bit tomorrow morning, winds 10 to 20 miles an hour, maybe gusting stronger than that. but boy, we saw some pretty strong gusts on sunday and wear be -- and wear a's not gog -- and we're not gonna see anything like that with this system. the winds are light as i showed you. here's your forecast -- we have mostly gray skies but we're mainly dry at this hour. you see the rain here to the north of us. scattered showers are a possibility in the north
